Brian Hibbeln, Venture Partner

Brian Hibbeln brings over 30 years of national security and investment experience to Caelum Ventures, where he advises on investments at the nexus of defense, intelligence, and emerging technologies. A former senior official in the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community, Brian oversaw more than $10 billion in advanced capability demonstrations and operational support initiatives.

He previously served as Director of the Pentagon’s Special Capabilities Office and led the Remote Sensing Center–National Capital Region, delivering next-gen technologies to combatant commanders worldwide. Earlier, he held senior technical roles at the National Reconnaissance Office and served as an active-duty Air Force officer.

Now a trusted advisor to firms shaping the future of aerospace, microelectronics, quantum, and cybersecurity, Brian holds board and advisory roles across a wide network of venture-backed and strategic technology companies. He is a Venture Partner at SineWave Ventures, Senior Fellow at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies, and Senior Advisor to Blackstone.

Brian holds an M.S. in Physics from the Air Force Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Physics from the U.S. Air Force Academy.
